"Breathtakingly Beautiful" - Curve Magazine

The Dance is a book about love, family and friendship, and learning how to dance with life’s constant spin.

Dog trainer Jacky Applebaum is focused on one thing – making up for a grave misunderstanding that damaged her relationship with her fifteen-year old stepdaughter Sophie. They are suffocating under the pressure of hurt and guilt. Old wounds begin to heal between them when a spirited beekeeper named Brooke Hastings contracts Jacky to train her overly-protective dog, Bee. A mutual affinity grows instantly between them, an affinity Jacky won’t allow herself to embrace. But, the heart knows what it needs. Meanwhile, Brooke hires Sophie as her assistant in the bee apiary. A trust forms, and soon Sophie begins to feel alive again as she comes face-to-face with the many parallels between her and the honeybees she nurtures.

Just as they learn to open up and dance with life again, a hurtful truth reveals itself. Will this truth set them free or unravel all they’ve come to learn about life?

This was a brilliantly told story of hope and maturity. Weaving the life of bees into the telling was pure genius.

One sign of a truly good book is one where you cry tears of sorrow and joy along the journey. As such, this was indeed a good book.

Of course, I didn't want the book to end. And the beauty of this book is that it hasn't ended for me. The love of bees and the changes I've made from reading the book, allow the story to continue. How often does that happen?

It is indeed a wonderful story. And if it were only a wonderful story, it would still be worthy of praise and a five-star review. But the story gave so much more. It left a lasting love of bees on my soul and for that, I'm eternally grateful.

The Dance edition by Suzie Carr Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

What an amazing piece of writing. I knew some stuff about Bees though after reading this I know so much more. However the story isn't only about the honeybee, it is also about losing sight of what holds us together and how if we don't communicate openly and honestly then we as a person, a people and a race are doomed. This superb piece of writing starts off with a growing apart and loss, the finding of common likes and discovering the peacefulness of nature that allows Jacky and Sophie to heal. Brooke enters their life at a time when it is most needed. Although there is a growing love between Brooke and Jacky, and how they deal with issues, it is the interweaving of the Bees' story that held me enthralled. Suzie Carr what an amazing piece to read and I can only imagine how much research went into the writing of this book. Congratulations on a well written and presented book. If you all want to know more of Brooke and Jacky's story and where Sophie, Hazel and Marie fit into it along with Elise and Pepe, then please purchase this truly fantastic book and as with all Suzie's books a portion of the proceeds is donated back to animal welfare.
The Dance by Suzie Carr is not a light read. It is the story of overcoming terrible grief and learning to forgive yourself and others. Having said that, it isn’t a dark read either. Suzie Carr has a rather remarkable talent of putting grief into words and then taking us on a journey to redemption and light.

If you are in the mood for a drama with a happy ending then this is a good book for you. Carr has a unique ability to take a really big tragedy and have the characters work through it in a realistic way, coming out on the other side stronger and better for it.

I loved some of the side stories like that of Marie, Jacky’s business partner, being a bit of a hoarder and Jacky having to deal with that.

I also really enjoyed the research that Carr did on bee keeping. It was interesting getting to know a little more about these funny little honey creators.
Wow, this was a really really awesome book. In my opinion, maybe one of her best. This is an ode to nature, to the honeybees, to the dogs. The honeybees, as they are the keystone species, take a very special place in this story. It has inspired me to visit a bee apiary myself and really, I'm impressed with this little creatures. Suzie has done her research very well and you can see that from all the details. Her love for nature meanders through the whole story. Of course, it's not just about bees, the romance is also prominent. The romance is touching, passionate and heartwarming. There are a few emotional twists and turns, very unexpected ones and pulled at my heart strings. I loved the scene in the hospital with nana, telling the beautiful little tale. It was moving. I have laughed at Hazel and Marie, the bickering couple. They and the beast are really the funny part of the story. I felt so sorry for Sophie, struggling for so long with the letter and I was happy when she let go of her anger. Her character is very well developed, you feel connected with her. This is also true for Jacky and Brooke, 2 women who melt your heart. The story is about love, friendship, forgiveness and communication. The basis for every relationship and the basis for this story. From now on, I dance with an open heart and mind through all of life's ups and downs and I know you will too after reading this book. It is outstanding and hats off for the author.
Another great story from the mind of Suzie Carr. I think this one will stay in my #1 spot for quite some time, much can be learned inside these pages. My wish for the Bees would be this book reach much further than it's genre and educate the world on their importance, not just to the ecosystem but as shown in this story the way their life style could teach us humans how to live in peace, unison and the strong possibilities of a perfect harmony. This book has the power of healing those teetering on the edge of the realities of relationship, romantic or family this story will give you hope and insight to healing. To sum it up, I don't think their is a soul on earth that couldn't benefit from this story in some way. As always, thank you Suzie for sharing the gift of your words!
I just finished this book and I was so unbelievably touched by this story. It tells us so many things about how we can be better people, how to live our life in a positive way. The information about the bees was truly inspirational. Susie, often has a message within her novels, The Muse truly touched my heart also. But this book just left me speechless and yes, it is making me look at my life differently. She has a way of making a novel so interesting and enjoyable to read while also teaching us lessons about life. Many authors write to entertain their readers but Suzie writes in such a way that she can a change a readers life in such a positive and inspirational way. I can not think of a more important legacy that a writer can leave her readers with except that she has truly touched my soul and has made such a huge impact on how I view the world and our interactions with each other. I consider myself so truly blessed and fortunate that Suzie has shared this story with the world and I truly feel that this story will touch others as it has touched me!
